Snowmobile Rentals in Maine

November 26, 2007

indexopen-1059480.jpg    Now you can enjoy hundreds of miles on the ITS system in Maine and Canada using your points! We’ve created a way for you to use your points to rent snowmobiles from a local vendor in Jackman. Many guests used their services last year and were very happy with the sleds. Rates start at just 36,000 points per day. They offer beginner sleds that have less horsepower than the standard rental and they also offer single or double rider sleds.

Sandy Stevens, our resort GM says the people are great to work with and take very good care of the equipment.

Just another way we are trying to improve the Vacation Club. If you have any suggestions, be sure to send them to me.

Mountain View Resort

November 12, 2007

We just returned from a quick trip to Mountain View Resort. Of course, from Cape Cod there is no such thing really, as it’s a 7 hour drive. But the weather was great, there was some snow on the sides of the road and the mountain tops were white! The new cabin is coming along great and should be available after mid January of 08. We’re setting up a program with the local snowmobile rental company so you don’t have to haul your sleds (if you have them) all that way. Winter activites are scheduled to include dog sled trips from our property. Go ahead, be a musher! We dare you.

Cruise Exchanges

November 8, 2007

Hi everyone. Let’s talk about how to do cruise exchanges. Cruise exchanges are different than other exchanges. Interval has contracts with all the major cruise lines for discounted rates. When Interval takes a week in exchange they must put a value on that week, then apply that value to price of the cruise you want then they can tell you how much, if anything, you’ll be required to pay for the cruise.

Interval International has asked members do the following when requesting a cruise. First, always call our owner services at 888.333.1535. Our agents will review your account and let you know how many points you have and more importantly tell you what those equate to in unit size and week number. Then you’ll call the II/InnSeason line at 800.522.1466 and speak with an Interval agent. With them you’ll explain that you wish to do a cruise exchange, giving the agent the unit information you received from the InnSeason agents. The Interval agents will then pass along your information to their cruise department who will contact you within two business days. It’s not a perfect situation and we are working on the process but this is how Interval has asked us to proceed.

Bonus Time Reservations

November 1, 2007

I thought it best to clarify Bonus Time. It is just that; “Bonus” Time. The rooms used for Bonus Time are made up of rooms that are early check outs, late check ins, unused Vacation Club, and other unreserved rooms. We can’t use rooms that owners have placed into the rental program as the rate is too low.  That causes alot of confusion as owners will call asking for a reservation, we’ll say there is space but not for Bonus Time rates, and owners think we are doing the bait and switch routine. We just can’t place such a deeply discounted rental rate in an owner rental unit, it wouldn’t be fair to the owner of the unit. So, if we say there isn’t Bonus Time available but there are rooms available, that’s probably why. Always try right to the last minute for a Bonus Time reservation. In high demand seasons, there are very few “Bonus Time” rooms available as owners, exchangers and club members are using them. Remember owners do get 25% off the rack rate and you can book that up to a year in advance. So if you really have to go to “Aunt Betty’s” wedding and can’t wait for the 14 day Bonus Time window, please book the 25% off rate. It’s still the best deal in any of our destinations.
