It may be early November, but it’s not too early to start thinking about planning your holiday adventures.
Here’s a round-up of the Polar Express events going on around or near the resorts.
Possibly the most well-known of the Polar Express events is the one held every year in Lincoln. This train ride takes the children through the White Mountains of New Hampshire to the North Pole. Children of all ages will then enter a theater where the little boy from Chris Van Allsburg’s book, all grown up now, will read the story of his own trip on the Polar Express. Your heart will delight in seeing the faces of the little ones when Santa himself enters the theater to give out the first gift of Christmas. Tickets for this train are so popular that they are done in a lottery system. For more information please visit their website and read up on other ways you may be able to get tickets to this wonderful event. The Hobo Railroad (home to the Polar Express in Lincoln) is just minutes away from the resorts.
Cape Cod is also offering visitors a chance to make the trip to the North Pole. The Cape Cod Central Railroad is going to be making weekend trips, with passengers, comfy in their pajamas, to see Santa. Sing Christmas carols and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies as you ride to the spot where Santa and his elf will board the train to hand out gifts to the children. To book your special train ride north, head over to the website and reserve your tickets. The Cape Cod Central Railroad is in Hyannis which is about a 40 minute drive from Falmouth, a 3o minute drive from the DestINNation properties in Mashpee, and a 2o minute drive from the DestINNation properties in West Yarmouth.
An hour north of Ogunquit, Portland, Maine is also running a train to the North Pole. Based out of the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum, children and their families will board the train and listen to a reading of the story while they sip hot chocolate and eat warm cookies. Santa will board the train and hand out gifts to the children. To book your tickets for this train, visit this website and get your tickets now.
Whichever event you decide to attend, be sure to wear your most comfortable pajamas, bring the camera, and your Christmas caroling voice!
While InnSeason Resorts may not be offering any Points Packages for these events, you still should consider booking your room at one of our resorts and make a special weekend out of this merry event. Make memories that will last a lifetime and most of all, enjoy the family time that comes with the holiday season!
