The Other Orlando

Almost everyone knows that when you go to Orlando, you go see Mickey and Universal Studios but did you know about the other Orlando?  The one that isn’t centered around theme parks?

Orlando has so much to offer that a trip to this city doesn’t have to be just a trip to theme park heaven.  From Arts and Cultural centers, Spas, and amazing adventures for everyone, Orlando truly does have something that will be sure to wow you when you stay!

Downtown Orlando hosts many amazing art galleries and performing arts centers.  People who love glass work done by Louis Comfort Tiffany will enjoy a trip to the Morse Museum of American Art.  Housing examples of every medium Tiffany worked in, this collection is the shining star of the Morse Museum.  Along with other wonderful works of American Decorative art from the mid-19th to the early 20th centuries, you won’t be disappointed by a visit here!

Another wonderful place to see some great local artists on display is the CityArts Factory.  A large collective of art galleries, CityArts Factory rotates on a monthly basis, featuring many different local and international artists.  Open Tuesday through Saturday 11 am – 6 pm, free of charge, this gallery is a wonderful place to get more art in your life!

Want a day of pampering?  Well Orlando has some wonderful options available to you!  You can take a trip into one of Disney’s amazing full-service spas.  Located away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, relax and unwind at one of the three locations within some of the wonderful Disney resorts.

Not looking to drive into the realm of Disney?  No worries!  The Waldorf Astoria Spa by Guerlain is a wonderful option located in downtown Orlando.  A little on the pricier side, a day of pampering will be well worth it once you are done with your treatment here!

Another luxurious option for a day at the spa can be found at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Spa.  Featuring Medi-spa treatments, traditional spa treatments, and even a Kids and Teens menu, you can plan a wonderful day for yourself or with your special someone!

Looking for more adventure?  Don’t worry – Orlando has something for you too!  Florida is known for its wetlands and what better way to see those wetlands than by a guided air boat tour!  Boggy Creek Airboat Rides offers tours leaving every 30 minutes and also a night tour that allows you to search for alligators in the dark!

There’s nothing better than Florida oranges.  Nothing, though, beats a fresh picked Florida orange.  At Showcase of Citrus, a self-proclaimed paradise for fruit lovers, visitors can pick their own citrus fruits (over 15 varieties) from mid-October through mid-May.  Or simply stop by and take a tour and learn about this crop that helps keep Florida the leading producer of citrus!

No matter what you enjoy doing, there’s something for you in Orlando outside of the theme parks that we all know and love.  Try something different on your next trip to Florida.  You never know, it could become your new favorite thing!

It is definitely an amazing island that draws visitors from
around the globe and provides almost all their
needs rolling around in its own special ways. You must
not miss out to be able to explore the colourful world that lies underneath the water, beyond our sight.
The South Rim tours have optional add-ons too for instance a motorcycle
    or jeep ride.
