Understanding Booking Windows helps you plan vacations.

December 2, 2015

As a Club Member, you have probably heard, about the value of knowing the booking windows. There’s a reason we sound like a broken record when it comes to this one particular aspect of booking reservations.  We want to make sure that you are clear about what Points to use and when to use them to get the vacation you desire.

We have developed great reservation guidelines that offer some very comprehensive examples of how to use the booking windows to your advantage.  They can be found on the Owner’s Inn under Online Owner Services -> How To/Reference Guides.  If you have never looked at them, it might be wise to at least scan them over to maybe make sure you are at least familiar with all the terms and different categories of Points – Regular, Accrued, Borrowed, and Rented.

2016 is  ahead of us.  That means that if you have paid your Regular Use Year Points (Points allocated to 2016) you can book a full seven night stay any time up through December 31. Payment plans are set up to pay a year ahead…so if you pay monthly you are good to book 7 night stays throughout the year. If you just got your bill…you much pay your bill prior to booking. (The points are only usable once they are paid for!)

If you want a short-stay (a reservation of less than seven nights), you may book that up to four months in advance of the arrival date.  You don’t have to restrict yourself to the Regular Use Year Points, either.  In this booking window, you can use either Accrued, Borrowed, or Rented Points in addition to your Regular Use Year Points.

Knowing these little facts can make a world of difference when it comes to planning and making sure that you are able to reserve the vacation you are hoping to reserve.  Knowing that you can only use your Regular Use Year Points in the year in which they are allocated.  That means that if you want to book a full week stay in 2016 (and you have enough Regular Points in 2016 to do so), you would have to prepay your 2016 club fees or set up a prepayment plan and then you would be able to book up to 12 months in advance of the arrival date.

If you have questions about it, you can always log on and print out the How to Make A Reservation packet and review it.  The more you know about these booking windows and how to use your Points, the better you will be at booking the exact reservation you are trying to book!

Playtime Points are once again available online!

January 13, 2015

Last year, over 190 of our Vacation Club Owners purchased Dining Certificates through the online system. In other words. It was a very popular facet of the Vacation Club.

It is easy and the system lets you order right online, at any time. Cards are available in $50 increments at several popular restaurants near our resorts. We have added new restaurants on the Cape and offer the classics in Lincoln and Ogunquit.  Login to your Vacation Club account. You’ll see the link to the new Playtime Points Requests in the left hand navigation column. Once there, take a minute and review the Rules and Regulations. The system will abide by the rules and only allow you to book when your points are eligible. You will receive your gift card(s) in 5-10 business days.

Make your Vacation Club Reservations on line!!

August 27, 2014

We are thrilled to tell you about online reservations, because we know that it is going to change your enjoyment of the InnSeason Vacation Club. You can your vacations online – anytime! When you are logged in you will see ALL the inventory available to you. You can choose your vacation based on when there is space available. You can review with your family and decide at home, after dinner, and the system applies the rules. It will use accrued points first (when applicable) so you don’t have to worry. We launched it in early June, and it has been a huge success!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

First, as with all our online applications, you login at “Owner’s Inn.” Once logged in, you click on your orange contract link, which brings you to your Owner’s Detail Page. Here, you’ll see an orange link “Make Club Reservations”.

home 6_2014

Click on the link. You will be brought to a window that lets you “search for available” rooms. Stay here and play a while. You’ll see what is available to you based on your point balance, the day you are booking and the dates you want to vacation. If you search for 7 day vacations, only those accommodations available for the entire seven days will show. So play around. Search for a lot, or a little. Here are a couple of examples:

This search is  for July and August. At any location. And for only 3 nights. So since the points are available, all kinds of options pop up as choices. Then I can decide. Would it be nice on the Cape or Maine? If I am limited on time, I’ll know what’s available when I can get away, if I am flexible, I get even more choices.

Match 3These are just some of the choices…but you get the idea.

Choose the vacation you want and “book it”. A point allocation window will pop up, showing you which points will be used for the booking. Once you click “Book Stay” a Pending Reservation window will appear, essentially confirming your stay.

You’ll get a confirmation email too. The only way to truly assess this system is to try it. So, please do, and let us know what you think.

USE YEAR BASIC CALENDAR_2 yr

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

December 17, 2013

As this year winds down, we hope that you are able to find some joy in the past year and have something to look forward to in 2014.  An exciting vacation is always something to look forward to!

At the end of 2013, your 2012 Accrued Points (if you have any still remaining in your account) will expire if you do not book them.  If you want to use them at an InnSeason Vacation Club or DestINNation resort, the reservation must be made for travel prior to December 31st.

If that is not possible then you might want to consider book an exchange through RCI with your RCI membership.  Using your Vacation Club Accrued Points through RCI gives you the ability to book and travel past the December 31st Accrued Points expiration date. To explore the option of an RCI exchange, log on to the Owner’s Inn and click on the RCI portal to check availability.

In the center of the page, there is a link to your RCI account.

In the center of the page, there is a link to your RCI account.

While you cannot deposit your Points with RCI, this option does allow you to make sure that those Accrued Points are not lost when the year ends.

There are some great vacations available.  You may discover a new favorite place to vacation!

Want to Go Away in July?

March 19, 2013

July – warm weather, sunshine, beaches, ice cream cones, late summer nights.  With the storm we are getting giving us more snow, July may be a welcome thought for many here in New England.

Your Vacation Club Points now allow you to book a stay of less than 7 nights using Regular or Accrued Points through Mid July (the week of July 14th to be exact).  That means if you wanted to just book a few nights away in June or early July, you should call now to book that room because space will fill up fast!

Remember booking windows are the key to getting the vacation you want!  If you want to book a fall vacation to New Hampshire, call today to see if there are still weeks (7 night stays only at this time using Regular Points) available for leaf peeping season.

The sooner you know your travel plans, the sooner you should call Owner Services.  As we get closer to the peak season for New England, this is when you should really be paying attention to those booking windows so you can enjoy all that being a member of the InnSeason Vacation Club has to offer!

Booking Windows Are the Key!

March 12, 2013

We set the clocks ahead this past weekend.  Spring is just around the corner and Summer is fast approaching!  If you haven’t already secured your Summer vacation, there is still some time to book it.

Vacation-circled-on-calendar-jpg

The key to booking your Summer Vacation are the booking windows.  First you need to understand what Points are available in your Vacation Club account.  To do this, you simply log on to the Owner’s Inn and check out your Vacation Club account. Once you have established how many points you have and what status they are in (Regular or Accrued), you now can start to figure out how long you want to go on vacation for.

Remember to use Accrued Points or to stay for less than seven (7) nights you have to book within 120 days of your desired arrival date. For vacations of a week or more, use Regular Points and book up to a year out.

If you want to go for a full week or for a short weekend getaway, depending on when you want to travel and the date you call to book that travel, there are different Points that can be used.  Accrued Points can help you book a weekend getaway between now and mid-May.  You can use your Annual Points to book a nice fall week.

To really understand booking windows, you should go log on to the Owner’s Inn and select the “How To/Reference Guides” from the left hand menu side.

new navigation_how tojpg

From there, select the How to Make a Reservation menu option and review it so that you know what all your booking options are!

Feel free to print this guide out and add to your Owner Binder so that you have it to reference throughout the year.  After you review it, call Owner Services and book your vacations!

Time to Update your Owner’s Binder

February 26, 2013

We are halfway through the first quarter and if you haven’t already, you should log on to the Owner’s Inn and review your account.

You should check your points balance. Make sure that your 2013 regular points are allocated and available.  You should check the status of your 2012 points. If you accrued your points, they should now be listed in your account as accrued.

Make sure that your address, phone number, and most importantly, your email address is up to date.  We do so much of our communication electronically so if we do not have an accurate email address, you may be missing out on special offers and important Vacation Club news.

Another piece of important information to check is the 2013 points grids.

These are located in the Owner’s Inn under the “How To/Reference Guides” menu option.

new navigation_how tojpg

Once you select that menu option, the second option on the page, Club Points Grids, will allow you to view all of the 2013 grids.  You can then print these grids out and add them to your Vacation Club binder.  It’s a good idea to at least take a look at these grids because we do highlight the holiday weeks and school vacation weeks which change from year to year, which means the points values may be higher at different times than the previous year.

Also, it’s a good idea to look at the Destinnation Points Grids because the list of Destinnation Resorts may have changed since you last printed out the grid.

Every few months, you should get in the habit of checking out your Owner’s Inn account to see if there are any changes or anything that needs updating, including these helpful forms and reference guides.

If there are any guides or how to’s you would like to see added to this page, please let us know by leaving a comment below!

Newly Added Vacation Club Inventory

December 18, 2012

The Vacation Club is always growing.  In the past year, we have added inventory at four of our DestINNation resorts.  That means that the Vacation Club now owns these weeks and they will be a part of the Vacation Club annual inventory.  When you call Owner Services, remember to keep these resorts on your list of vacation options.

At the  Newport Bay Club, the Vacation Club added 75 weeks in 2012.  The units at Newport Bay Club are spacious and have one or two bedrooms.  All units have queen size beds in the bedrooms and a queen size pullout in the living room (no units offer king or two beds in one bedroom).  The units also feature beautiful marble bathrooms and kitchens with microwave ovens (only the 2 bedroom units have a stove).  This is a wonderful spot to watch the ships sail on Narragansett Bay and explore this beautiful seaside town.

The Vacation Club also was happy to be able to add more weeks on Cape Cod.  We know that Cape Cod is one of the most requested vacation spots in New England and when the Club had the chance to increase inventory at both SeaMist Resort and at Edgewater Beach Resort, we jumped!  Adding 36 weeks at SeaMist and 119 weeks at Edgewater, the Vacation Club now has that many more opportunities for you and your family to come and see what makes Cape Cod such a special vacation spot.

As many of you were already aware, South Mountain Resort is now managed by Bluegreen Resorts. The Vacation Club has been able to add 104 units (1 Bedroom and Studios) at South Mountain Resort this past year and they are now part of the Vacation Club inventory.

As we move through 2013, we hope to add even more weeks of inventory to the Vacation Club.  If you ever were curious as to where the Vacation Club owned inventory or what specific weeks were owned so that you can better plan your vacation for the coming year, log on to the Owner’s Inn and review the Vacation Club Weeks Owned option in the left hand menu.  This will give you a breakdown of all the resorts, weeks, and unit types that the Vacation Club owns.

You can always call Owner Services and have them check availability at 800-228-2968.

During the new year, why not explore some of these new (and some familiar) DestINNation resorts and see what they have to offer. We know that you will enjoy yourself at these great locations!
